Blackberries in a Basket: August Laux

August Laux 1847-1921
This lovely painting perfectly illustrates this time of year. Eat all the fresh local fruit you can because soon there will be no more. via

Here in Texas, blackberries ripen in May. Even so, this painting is lovely and brings to my mind my favorite berry. Thank you for posting this beautiful painting.

Gosh, August Laux had a bit of talent, didn't he! Beautiful painting. I'd hang this in my home (well, it would have to be a copy) in a nano second. Have never seen it before. Lovely.

Louise Marie -- Here in New Jersey, the blackberried are ripe a bit later. I can remember picking them with my mother after we found a thicket full of them while on a walk. We could stand in one spot and pick enough for a pie. Fond memories.

Mama Pea -- If you google this painting, you might get lucky and find a reproduction. Glad you like it too.
